Ravva and the Cyclops Curse is an old-school sidescrolling platformer in which you play as apprentice summoner Ravva, whose mother has been cursed by a terrifying cyclops, as has the whole country! Ravva will cut a way through a slew of traps and enemies by switching between four summoned friends on the fly, each with a distinct attack method.

Stardew Valley and cats are the two things I’m statistically confident people like. Kitaria Fables is a big, bright, and simply charming action RPG world that hits all of those buttons. The wonderfully edgy BloodRayne series has been largely inactive since its peak in the early 2000s until last year. Developers have been attempting to revive the series with “Terminal Cuts” of the original two games since last year. BloodRayne Betrayal, a sidescrolling action game, is the second title to get such makeover.
Wayforward, the game’s original creator, has returned to give the forthcoming Fresh Bites edition a new coat of red paint. This version of the game will include reworked, high-resolution graphics, some contemporary quality-of-life improvements, and, most importantly, complete voice acting with Laura Bailey as Rayne and Troy Baker as Kagan.
Strange Case Files – Hermitage – September 9
If you didn’t grow up with a Famicom, you may not realize that mystery visual novels are a very ancient game genre that has always sold in the shadows of big releases. The story of a strange bookshop that appears to be a magnet for dark, Lovecraftian monsters is told in Hermitage: Strange Case Files, which maintains the spirit of those great mysteries alive. As you attempt to solve a number of supernatural conundrums in a branching narrative that will vary depending on how you play it, take notes and interview suspects.

WarioWare has always been one of my favorite time-killing franchises. You wouldn’t think a rapid-fire series of ten-second microgames would be so engaging, but it’s the game’s simplicity that makes it so simple to pick up and play, and it’s a lot of fun to play with friends. WarioWare: Get it Together!, the most recent installment in the series, adds another unique twist to the microgame paradigm: distinct characters!
With Wario and his friends/employees engrossed in his latest game, they’ll be right in the thick of things! As Wario flying about and shoulder-bashing things to 18-Volt sitting in position and firing CDs at objects, each of the game’s roughly 200 microgames may play out somewhat differently depending on which character you play with. Aside from the narrative mode, there’s a Variety Pack with party games and challenges, as well as an online leaderboard where you can establish time and score records!

Son Goku has had a strange existence, hasn’t he? He started off as a monkey-tailed mountain boy chasing Dragon Balls, then discovered he was an extraterrestrial, skipped a few steps, and now he’s going toe-to-toe with actual gods! If that seems like a life you’d want to live, play Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to relive all of Goku’s greatest events, as well as a slew of sidequests and minigames to round out the Dragon Ball universe.

The original Melty Blood was a collaboration between Type-Moon, a game publisher, and French Bread, a doujin circle turned software company. It was a fighting game based on characters from Type-Tsukihime Moon’s visual novel, and it has long been regarded as a forerunner of small studio fighting games. While Type-Moon is now focused on the massive success of the Fate series, they are always ready to pay tribute to the classics that helped them get to where they are (especially with the recently released Tsukihime reboot to advertise for).
Melty Blood: Type Lumina is a full reimagining of the original game, with Type-Moon and French Bread at the helm once again. All of the visual assets and speech lines have been entirely rebuilt, and the mechanics have been reworked to provide a better, cleaner gaming experience.
