Blizzard has released the patch notes for the Season 5 PTR, and there are pages upon pages of changes. I’ve condensed it all down into a single page on my other monitor here, so we will go through and tell you some cool things that We are seeing and how we think it will impact the different classes. Let’s dive in!
1.Diablo 4 Season 5 Balance Changes To Each Class

Barbarian Balance Changes
Barbarians are seeing significant changes: Grasping Whirlwind pulls in targets three times as often, making Whirlwind builds more viable. Gore’s Devastating Grips have been buffed. The explosion size is now affected by Whirlwind size, restoring some of its former glory. These changes should make the Barbarian’s gameplay more dynamic and engaging, especially for Whirlwind builds.

Druid Balance Changes
Druids have a mix of nerfs and buffs: Shepherd’s Power has been nerfed, now buffing companions instead of core skills. This encourages more companion-focused builds. Various skills like Landslide, Shred, Tornado, and Hurricane have received buffs. You can now summon companions without stopping, making the gameplay smoother. Despite the nerf to Shepherd’s Power, Druids should still be strong with these buffs.

Necromancer Balance Changes
Necromancers are getting some exciting changes: Minions can now overpower, making them much stronger. Minions are now more aggressive and automatically engage nearby enemies, addressing a longstanding complaint. These changes should make minion-focused Necromancers feel more like commanders of the undead rather than babysitters.

Rogue Balance Buffs & Nerfs
Rogues are receiving numerous buffs: Flurry now allows you to dash to the target and can heal you for 10% of your maximum life. Dark Shroud now grants movement speed for free, with additional buffs available. Poison Imbuement now generates energy, helping with sustain.
Momentum provides significant buffs when spamming Cutthroat skills. Rogues will have more sustainability and powerful synergies, making them a formidable class in Season 5.

Sorcerer Balance Changes
Sorcerers have some intriguing changes: Chain Lightning bounces more and can drain your Mana, requiring resource generation stacking. Veer’s Mastery now grants 25% damage reduction and potential for massive single-target damage boosts. Blizzard changes aim to make the skill more viable, though the magnitude of these changes might be off. Sorcerers should find Chain Lightning builds fun and powerful, especially with the new unique pants.

New Items and Uniques
Season 5 brings a host of new Diablo 4 items and uniques. One notable addition is the Axial Conduit for Sorcerers. These unique pants make Chain Lightning alternate between orbiting you and seeking out enemies, draining your Mana and then exploding for lightning damage. This change encourages Sorcerers to stack resource generation to keep the Chain Lightning active.
Additionally, various changes to Paragon and legendary aspects will help with Mana regeneration, making this a very interesting build. So you should prepare some Diablo 4 gold from AOEAH for the Season 5.

Cooldown Changes
Blizzard has implemented a new rule where the cooldown starts at the end of the skill’s duration for certain skills, like Flame Shield and Grizzly Rage.
This change aims to prevent infinite uptime on certain abilities, though it has been met with mixed reactions, especially for skills integral to certain builds like Grizzly Rage for Druids.

UI & Other Goodies
Shift-clicking a skill now adds five points or the maximum amount in the skill tree, streamlining the process. World bosses are now more resilient to damage, making fights more challenging and potentially more rewarding. Potions can now be used while crowd controlled, adding a layer of strategic gameplay. Various dungeons have had their layouts streamlined to reduce backtracking.
New weapon types are also being added: Druids can use polearms, one-handed swords, and daggers. Necromancers can use maces and axes. Sorcerers can use one-handed swords, allowing for interesting new build possibilities with items like Doombringer.
