Introduction

On July 29th, 2021, AMD unveiled the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT at Chinajoy 2021, and on August 10th, 2021, the formal press introduction and early reviews were released. We’ve written a complete overview of the Radeon RX 6600 XT and what it’s all about. All of the specs and information may be found in the introduction.

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT had an official MSRP of $379 when it was released. We released our first add-in-board partner video card evaluation on August 11th. That makes sense since the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT is an AIB card. We’ve got another add-in-board video card evaluation for you today. This is the MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT GAMING X 8G video card, which is built on the Radeon RX 6600 XT and represents MSI’s best-of-the-best.

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT is based on the AMD RDNA2 architecture’s NAVI 23 die. There are 2,048 stream processors, 64 ROPs, 128 TMUs, and 32 RT Cores in this system. The Infinity Cache is 32MB. The boost clock is 2589MHz while the game clock is 2359MHz. It features 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus running at 16GHz, giving it a memory bandwidth of 256GB/s. The thermal design power (TDP) is 160W.

Specs for the MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT GAMING X

On MSI’s website, under Radeon RX 6600 XT GPUs, there are two different versions, the MECH 2X and the GAMING models, for the US market. The MECH 2X model comes in OC and non-OC versions, while the GAMING comes in X and non-X versions. MSI’s TWIN FROZR 8 thermal design, TORX FAN 4.0, and Mystic Light RGB are all included in the GAMING series. The MECH series is a performance-focused necessary design for pleasure or work, including MSI TORX FAN 3.0. The GAMING X variant features the best and most stable gaming setup, as well as the highest factory overclock.

The factory overclock on the MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT GAMING X 8G video card is 2428MHz for the gaming clock and 2607MHz for the boost clock. In comparison, the standard specification calls for a game clock of 2359MHz and a boost clock of 2589MHz. That’s a 69MHz or 3% increase in speed.

MSI’s TWIN FROZR 8 thermal design arrangement is used in the MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT GAMING X. The TORX FAN 4.0, which combines fan blades with an outer ring design that focuses on airflow into the cooling system, is a major component of it. They also support Zero FROZR, which turns off the fans and makes them quiet when the load is low. It also makes use of MSI’s Core Pipes, which are precision-machined heat pipes that make full contact with the GPU and distribute heat evenly over the whole heatsink. The heatsink features Airflow Control, which uses deflectors on the surface to direct air to where it is required for cooling. It also has Wave-curved 2.0 fin edges, which decrease noise by disrupting undesirable airflow harmonics.

There’s also a tough aluminum Metal Backplate with a matte finish that supports the graphics card while also providing passive cooling via thermal pads. It takes up the whole video card’s length. A metal anti-bending strap is also incorporated into the video card, making it more robust and less prone to bending. Extra fuses are included onto the bespoke PCB, providing additional levels of protection against electrical harm. To enhance conductivity, heat dissipation, and dependability, the PCB material is developed using 2 oz of thicker copper. MSI Mystic Light RGB is built into the video card and can be adjusted in software through MSI Center.

Three DisplayPort v1.4 ports and one HDMI 2.1 connector are available on the visual card. One 8-pin PCI-Express power connection is required. A 500W or higher power supply is suggested. The video card is a 2-slot design that is 10.9 inches long, 5.1 inches wide, and 2 inches tall.

The amd radeon graphics is a video card that has been released by AMD. It is the first graphics card to be released under the Radeon RX brand.
